Yes, a lot of weeds are wildflowers, but so many others are invasives, like the green orchids l keep picking before they go to seed and spread.

A nice looking list for the month Kathryn. I assume the wedding quilt is highest on your priority list.

April goals–

1. Mon Cheri– Pin-baste, quilt and bind. This is for my daughter’s wedding in August.

2. Ambience– I started piecing another quilt for donation.

3. Brightly– sew along group here in NS.

I”m sure that I’ll probably add more as the month goes on.

My goals for this month:

1) Finish green tote bag (Creativity Call Blocks 28 & 34) – almost done;

2) Continue with the Guild’s BOM Bugs baby quilt – working on flies;

3) Begin Brightly QAL – cut fabric;

4) Have another tote to make (Creativity Call
Blocks 2 & 32).

That is an ambitious list.

Speaking of weeds (or should I say early spring pollinator blooms) my yard is displaying it’s colors of wild violets (white, blue, and purple) dandelions (yellow), star of Bethlehem (white), and henbit (rosy-purple). There might even be some green grass stems mixed in, but pollinators are not interested in that species.

And you should be.

Depends. I have seen numerous designs used where the high/low temps are recorded (both pieced and appliqued). I have also seen some where only the high temperature for the day is used. Can’t say I have ever seen one that used the average for the day. If you do a “Google” search you will see a lot of different concepts, patterns, color charts, etc.

You had a very excellent month Kathryn, congratulations. This year’s weather has definitely been a roller coaster ride.

We still have a bit of snow in the yard, and the weeds haven’t popped up yet, so my list is a bit ambitious. If l run low on sew time, hopefully the top 3 will at least get done. The rest can be finished any time.

I’m curious, do both ” colours” from high and from low temps get used in most temp. quilts? Or does one calculate the average , then use that? 🤔

End of March–

April Showers bring May Flowers. That verse goes through my memory every year in April. Depending on where you live, flowers may have already been blooming for some time; some of us need the rain and others have seen way too much.

Where ever you live, I hope you have some time to work on your sewing projects.

Set in sleeve caps were always fun too, but I did learn how to do them. Maybe I need to remember that method when sewing curves when piecing blocks.

I’m the opposite. I do ok with curves, but don’t like zippers.
